Niswarth Kadam pays tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai in the office of our NGO. He was an Indian author, revolutionary, and politician. He played a pivotal role in the Indian Independence movement. He was popularly known as Punjab Kesari. He died a few weeks after sustaining severe injuries during a baton charge by police when he led a peaceful protest march against the British Simon Commission, a commission constituted by the United Kingdom for Indian constitutional reform.
Lala Lajpat Rai was born in Agarwal Jain family in Ludhiana district of Punjab and his father Munshi Radha Krishna Agarwal Ji was a Urdu and Persian language teacher in government school. He also built the first educational institute R.K. High school in Jagraon.
